My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: Potiphar the master of the house, gave all authority to Joseph, his servant, he turned all over to him because the LORD was with Joseph and the LORD made ALL HE DID to PROSPER in his hand. “Potiphar’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “LAY DOWN WITH ME.” (Genesis 39:7) Joseph was faithful to God as this woman DAILY TEMPTED HIM. Joseph said to her, “There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me BUT YOU, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and SIN AGAINST GOD?” (Genesis 39:9)
So, Joseph resisted the temptation but remember the devil is persistent, “…it happened, Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, that she caught him by his garment, saying, “LAY DOWN WITH ME.” But he left his garment in her hand, and FLED OUTSIDE…so she called to the men of her house, See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.” (Genesis 39:11-14) If we are trapped in a tempting situation, do what Joseph did-RUN-God blessed Joseph greatly because of his faithfulness (See Genesis 41:38-40) and He will bless US AS WELL.
FaithLine, the bible says: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make THE WAY OF ESCAPE, that you may be able to bear it.” (1 Corin. 10:13)
