For Amy to get close to God, she must experience God. She must feel God’s presence in her life, experience the changes in her body, her attitude, the way she sees and experience the world. She must experience that feeling deep inside her self: that is God’s real and tangible presence.
The Bible promises that if Amy will seek God, He will come to her. God wants to be in her life so we must be willing to pray for that to happen for her. Sin, of course, separates Amy from God. The things that are acceptable and pleasing to the world around her are not pleasing to God. In order to get closer to God she must move away from the things of this world. So, our prayer for he is that God will pour His godly sorrow into her heart so she will, “…not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in her. For everything in the world — the cravings of sinful woman, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what she has and does — comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who DOES THE WILL OF GOD lives forever.” (I John 2:15-17)
If Amy truly wants to find God, she must be willing to do the things that God wants her to do. If she does this, she can start chipping away at the things that separate her from God. So, we must pray for God to give Amy THE DESIRE AND EMPOWER HER to want a renewed relationship with God the Father.
