My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “The LORD said to Jonah: ” ARISE, GO TO NINEVEH and preach against it, its wickedness has come up before me.” But JONAH RAN AWAY FROM THE LORD and headed for Tarshish…” (Jonah 1:1-3) Jonah boarded a ship, heading away from Nineveh, and fell asleep, the Lord sent a severe storm against the ship and sent the Captain down to talk to Jonah, “So the captain said, “ARISE, CALL ON YOUR GOD…“ (Jonah 1:6) Once again Jonah is called on to “ARISE.” All the sailors tried did not work so Jonah had them throw him overboard. “…the LORD prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” (Jonah 1:17) After prayer Jonah wanted to be obedient, so the Lord directed the fish to Nineveh and, “…spoke to the fish, and IT VOMITED JONAH onto dry land.” (Jonah 2:10)
WE CAN WILLINGLY THROW OUR SELF INTO GOD’S WORK OR BE UNWILLINGLY “THROWN UP” INTO HIS WORK FOR US.
