My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: Jesus speaks to the Church at Ephesus, “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars…Nevertheless I have this against you, that YOU HAVE LEFT YOUR FIRST 1LOVE. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; REPENT AND DO THE FIRST WORKS, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand…” (Rev. 2:2-5) 1agapē: the highest form of love, a pure, selfless, unconditional love. It’s not enough just to say “you’re sorry.” That is not genuine repentance. Real repentance, describes AN INWARD CHANGE THAT RESULTS IN AN OUTWARD CHANGE. Real, inward repentance shows forth evidence that repentance has occurred. Jesus told the church at Ephesus that they needed to repent and “do the first works.”
The word “do” is the Greek word poieo, this word describes DOING THAT PRODUCES RESULTS.
YOU HE MADE ALIVE, WHO WERE DEAD IN TRESPASSES AND SINS…(Eph. 2:1)
