I will be praying for your desire to pursue a degree in Law Enforcement. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9). In the Psalms our protection in the face of trouble is talked about, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And YOUR RIGHT HAND WILL SAVE ME.” (Psalms 138:7)
My Dad was a career police officer, in fact he started the sheriff’s patrol boat department because of so many lakes around where we grew up. My brother who was a recon Marine in Vietnam, joined the Sheriff department, serving for 20 years. My son-in-law spent 15 years as a Chattanooga police officer before he was selected to serve at the Pentagon.
“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities [police, military]. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist ARE APPOINTED BY GOD. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? DO WHAT IS GOOD, and you will have praise from the same. FOR HE IS GOD’S MINISTER [when you begin to do this work, you’ll do it as God’s minister] TO YOU FOR GOOD. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.” (Romans 13:1-4)
