My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: King Ahasuerus ruled over the Persia and Media in a great kingdom where a very large number of Jews lived. He appointed Haman to be his assistant (Haman hated the Jews) to take care of all matters of the king. A new Queen, Esther (a beautiful Jewish girl) was just selected and highly favored by the king. Mordecai, Esther’s uncle cried out to her to go to the king because every Jew, in this great kingdom, was about to be killed but she said she could only go if she was called so, Mordecai said to her, “…if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet WHO KNOWS WHETHER YOU HAVE COME TO THE KINGDOM FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS?” (Esther 4:14) The Lord inspired Esther with a plan to trap Haman and save Mordecai and all the Jews. “So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s wrath subsided.” (Esther 7:10)
