Where is the kingdom of God? “Now when Jesus was asked by the Pharisees about the kingdom of God, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU.” (Luke 17:20-21)
What is the kingdom of God? “…the kingdom of God is RIGHTEOUSNESS and PEACE and JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.” (Rom. 14:17) “…the kingdom of God is of POWER.” (1 Corin. 4:20)
The picture we get in the Gospels as Jesus unfolds the teachings of the kingdom is that it is both present and it is still future. “YOUR KINGDOM COME. Your will be done…” (Matt. 6:10) The answer is, the kingdom of God is God’s reign — His sovereign action in the world to redeem and deliver His people and then at a future time finish it and renew His people and the universe completely. “John the Baptist came, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven HAS COME NEAR.” (Matt. 3:1-2) “The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And HIS KINGDOM RULES OVER ALL.” (Psa. 103:19)
Just say this with me: the kingdom of God is WITHIN ME and the kingdom of God is RIGHTEOUSNESS, in me. The kingdom of God is PEACE, in me. The kingdom of God is JOY, in me. The kingdom of God is POWER, in me.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD RULES OVER ALL AND IT’S ALL IN ME…
