When I became born again, I was working as a design engineer. I just received my first patent on a “justifying apparatus.” This was before internet times so all my references books were on book shelves in my office. On one of those shelves was my very first KJV, “zip up” bible my grandmother had given me as I was leaving for Vietnam. It had not been opened due to lake of interest on my part but now was a very valuable book to me. I lovingly read through the bible to Romans 6, and thought I understood pretty well it’s meaning. Romans 6 made me realize that I had missed so much. So, I prayed for the Lord to help me understand His word. Then I memorized Romans 6 praying for God’s revelation. I discovered that it illustrates the power we have in our EVERYDAY LIFE TO LIVE IN A WAY THAT IS PLEASING TO GOD.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?” (Rom. 6:1) Some were feeling that God’s grace was made known be His forgiveness so, we must keep on sinning but Paul says, “GOD FORBID. How shall we, that are DEAD TO SIN, live in sin any longer…Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so WE ALSO SHOULD WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE.” (Rom. 6:2, 4)
NOW IF WE DIED WITH CHRIST, WE BELIEVE THAT WE SHALL ALSO LIVE WITH HIM…(Rom. 6:8)
