AS THE FATHER HAS SENT ME, I ALSO SEND YOU.” And when He had said this, HE BREATHED ON THEM, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:19-22)
After Christ’s crucifixion; there was a rumor that His body was taken by His disciples. They gathered together, and securely locked all the doors, so the Jews could not come in and surprise them. ALL OF A SUDDEN Jesus was standing there in their midst, the first words out of His mouth “PEACE be with you.” I image there was some fear at first but as “THE WORD” spoke the word, they experienced for themselves the PEACE of God. “For I HAVE NOT SPOKEN ON MY OWN AUTHORITY; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, WHAT I SHOULD SPEAK.” (John 12:49)
