“…the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service…these things they will do to you because THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN THE FATHER NOR ME…” (John 16:2-7)
The Jews had made a law already, that anyone confessing that Jesus was the Messiah, should be cast out of their synagogues; and they had put it in execution upon the blind man Christ restored to sight (Mar. 8:25). Notice Jesus is proclaiming that if the Jews don’t acknowledge Jesus, THEY DON’T KNOW THE FATHER! Why? Because Jesus reminds them, “I and My Father ARE ONE.” (John 10:30)
Remember Jesus and only Jesus can say, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except THROUGH ME.” (John 14:6) Jesus said, “…there are some of you who do not believe.” From that time many of His disciples went back and WALKED WITH HIM NO MORE. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO?
