My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “Jesus, THE TRUE 1LIGHT which gives light to EVERY MAN (mankind means men and women) coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and THE WORLD DID NOT KNOW HIM. He came to His own, and HIS OWN DID NOT RECEIVE HIM. But as many as received Him, to them HE GAVE THE RIGHT TO BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD, TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN HIS NAME…” (John 1:9-12) 1phōs: the power of understanding spiritual truth. Jesus gives the power to everyone coming into this world, to understand spiritual truth. Why is there so much unbelief? We are warned in the Word, “…humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, for HE CARES FOR YOU. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR. Resist him, steadfast in the faith…” (1 Peter 5:6-9)
How does he devour us? “The thief does not come except to STEAL, and to KILL, and to DESTROY.” (John 10:10) Why is the devil so successful? “Satan, who is THE GOD OF THIS WORLD, has BLINDED THE MINDS of those who don’t believe.” (2 Corin. 4:4) One of the favorite ways in which Satan operates is to get people to deny that Satan exists. He seems to be most effective when people do not believe there is such a creature as the Devil. THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL IS WHAT SETS PEOPLE FREE. Satan attempts to blind people from that truth.
Jesus said, “I have come that THEY MAY HAVE LIFE, and that they may have it MORE 2ABUNDANTLY.” (John 10:10) 2perissos: beyond measure, extraordinary, exceedingly.
