04-09-19 FaithLine Devotion HOW TO BE RICH TOWARD GOD…

My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: Jesus spoke a parable, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ He said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and goods. And I will say, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” But God said to him, FOOL! THIS NIGHT YOUR SOUL WILL BE REQUIRED OF YOU; THEN WHOSE WILL THOSE THINGS BE WHICH YOU HAVE PROVIDED?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and IS NOT RICH TOWARD GOD.” (Luke 12:16-21) Now let’s understand immediately that money in itself is simply pieces of metal and pieces of paper. And the reason we care about that is that in our culture we have established that these pieces of metal and paper will function as currency. They will represent value. So money is significant for us simply because we exchange it for what we value. WHAT WE DO WITH OUR MONEY SHOWS WHAT WE VALUE WITH OUR HEART. We value living, so we give money for food. We value education, and so we give money for books and tuition. We value entertainment (probably too highly), and so we give money for Netflix and ball games and concerts. We value the ministries of the church (probably not highly enough) and the spread of the gospel, and so we give money to the church and other ministries. For where your 1treasure is, THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE ALSO.(Luke 12:34)  1thēsauros: the place in which goods and precious things are collected and laid up.

OH LORD, PLEASE REVEAL WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS

FaithLine, the bible says: “For where your treasure is, THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE ALSO.”
