My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: Jesus went up to the mountain to spend the night in prayer for the extremely important part of His ministry. “…when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He CHOSE TWELVE whom He also named apostles…” (Luke 6:13) This was the birth of the ekklēsia (church) of God, Jesus said, “…I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH…” (Matt. 16:18).
Twelve men responded to the call of Jesus. They were Jews, uneducated commoners, and simple men of faith who gave up everything to be followers of Christ. Now they “…are ambassadors for Christ…” (2 Corin. 5:20) “…He came down WITH THEM and stood on a level place with a crowd of HIS DISCIPLES and a GREAT MULTITUDE OF PEOPLE…who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And THEY WERE HEALED. And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for POWER WENT OUT FROM HIM AND HEALED THEM ALL.” (Luke 6:17-19) Jesus provided an example of what He wants us to be doing, He wants us, in acting as His representative (ambassador), to be here in Christ’s stead,
