O LORD, You have searched WILL and known HIM. You know HIS sitting down and HIS rising up; You understand HIS thought afar off. You comprehend HIS path and HIS lying down, And are acquainted with all WILL’S ways. For there is not a word on HIS tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. You have hedged (protected) HIM behind and before, And laid Your hand upon HIM. Such knowledge is too wonderful for WILL; It is high, HE cannot attain it. Where can WILL go from Your Spirit? Or where can WILL flee from Your presence? If HE ascends into heaven, You are there; If HE makes HIS bed in hell, behold, You are there. If HE takes the wings of the morning, And dwells in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead WILL, And YOUR RIGHT HAND SHALL HOLD WILL FAST.” (Psa. 139:1-10)

The word “know” used several times in this passage comes from the word “yada`” “to know” in its simplest meaning, but the word has a far deeper and more intimate meaning. For example Adam “knew (yada`)” eve and she bore a child. This is what God is illustrating here, His desire to be in an intimate relationship with us. Everywhere we are, God is there with us. “…He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU.” (Heb. 13:5)
