My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: “Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So YOU MUST BE CAREFUL TO DO EVERYTHING THEY TELL YOU. BUT DO NOT DO WHAT THEY DO, for THEY DO NOT PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. “EVERYTHING THEY DO IS DONE FOR PEOPLE TO SEE:” (Matt. 23:1-5)
Jesus is telling us that the Pharisees know the Law and are good at correctly teaching the Law but they are not doing what they are properly teaching us, what we should do. The are not “practicing what they preach!” Jesus went on to say that they are only doing what they do for show. We must do as the writer of Hebrews states, “Pray for us; for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things WILLING TO LIVE HONESTLY.” (Heb. 13:18)
REMEMBER, OBEDIENCE IS PROOF OF OUR LOVE FOR GOD…
