My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron…on the tenth day of this month each man must get a lamb from his flock…Take some of the blood of the lamb. Put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where you eat the lambs…The blood will be a sign for you…and WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD, I WILL PASS OVER YOU.” (Exo. 12:1, 3, 13). The blood of Jesus (God the Son in visible form) was shed to redeem us from the wrath of God which we deserved by our sins: to deliver us from the death sentence which had come upon us for our sins. The wages of sin is death, and death we deserved; the only remedy from this death was that a substitute should die in our place. The only one qualified to be a substitute must be God and man: one who could both lay his hands on God and on man and reconcile the two parties. The only one who qualifies to do this is Jesus Christ.
Jesus had something very profound to say about the significance of the NEW Passover, because this requires a TOTAL COMMITMENT to Him!!! “Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, YOU HAVE NO LIFE IN YOU. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood HAS ETERNAL LIFE, and I WILL RAISE THEM UP AT THE LAST DAY. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood REMAINS IN ME, and I in them…From this time many of his disciples turned back and NO LONGER FOLLOWED HIM.” (John 6:53-56, 66) “…if we walk in the light, as He is in the light…THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST…CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN.” (1 John 1:7)
