The order was given by Pharaoh to kill all male Hebrew children. The mother of Moses knew he was special so she hid him for three months, “…but when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket coated with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it…in the Nile. Moses’s sister, Miriam stood to see what would happen to him. THEN PHARAOH’S DAUGHTER SAW THE BASKET AND THE BABY CRYING, AND FELT SORRY FOR HIM. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said. Then Miriam said, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” “Yes, go,” SO MIRIAM WENT AND GOT MOSES’S MOTHER.” (Exodus 2:3-8)
When God has a plan for our lives, He will work miracles to get us where we need to be…So, instead of Moses being drowned in the Nile river, he was adopted and raised by Pharaoh’s daughter in the king’s palace. On top of all that, his own mother was being paid to nurse and care for him. “…we know that in all things GOD WORKS FOR THE GOOD OF THOSE …WHO HAVE BEEN CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.” (Rom. 8:28) God called Moses to lead his people out of bondage, Moses trained for forty years in Egypt then another forty years with his father-in-law.
