“No one serving as a soldier gets entangled with the 1affairs of this life… REFLECT ON WHAT I AM SAYING, FOR THE LORD WILL GIVE YOU 2INSIGHT INTO ALL THIS.” 1pragmateia: a deal, or compromise. 2Sunesis: taking in knowledge, to understand completely. (2 Tim. 2:4-7) The Lord was teaching us in this verse to: “Trust in the LORD with ALL YOUR HEART And do not lean on your own understanding.” (Pro. 3:5). Solomon, inspired by God, said: “Wisdom is the main thing; GET WISDOM; and with all your getting GET UNDERSTANDING.” (Pro. 4:7) The Greek word sunesis is used in to describe understanding. It’s a combination of two words: “sun” to be gathered together with others, and “nesis” a collection of knowledge.
So, this is the problem, we live in this world and there are so many ways our lives are involved in what’s going in it’s easy for us to get tangled up in it all. The devil loves this because it keep us from becoming tangled up in Christ! We are taught, “…let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” (Heb. 10:24-25)
