My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “I remind you to FAN INTO FLAME THE GIFT OF GOD, which is in you…for GOD DID NOT GIVE US A spirit of fear BUT OF POWER AND LOVE AND SOUND MIND…” (2 Tim. 1:6-10, 13-14)
First we must understand the devil will do all he can to keep this flame from burning in us: The New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) says “Never let THE FIRE IN YOUR HEART GO OUT. KEEP IT ALIVE. Serve the Lord.” (Rom. 12:11) So, how do we “fan into flame” the calling God has given to us? Jeremiah said, “…HIS WORD is in my heart LIKE A FIRE…” (Jer. 20:9) This is the fire, now we need some “wind” to blow across these flames. “…suddenly there came from heaven a sound like A MIGHTY RUSHING WIND…” (Acts 2:2) This wind is the result of the Holy spirit “filling” the saints as they worshiped. We need to pray that the Holy Spirit will blow that wind INTO US as we, with renewed fever, read the word of God. Remember, we are praying the promise that God, did not give us the “spirit of fear” but a spirit of:
