WAITING UPON THE LORD…

“…THOSE WHO WAIT UPON THE LORD WILL GAIN NEW STRENGTH; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. (Isa. 40:29-31)

The Lord awoke me early this morning with the thought of having a more intimate relationship with  Him and this scripture came to me,those who wait upon the Lord will gain new strength”. I felt inspired to study the word “wait.” There are three levels of waiting that we will pursue.

  1. yâchal: tarry, hope for. If someone dies, will they live againI will wait for my renewal to come.(Job 14:14)
  2. tsâbâ’: to serve. “…the Levitesshall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle…” (Num. 8:24)
  3. qâvâh:   to bind together (perhaps by twisting), gather together. those who wait upon the Lord will gain new strength (Isa. 40:29-31)

These are the levels of commitment that Christians have, some not doing much but believing, some being in some type of service to the Lord but still not really committed. So, what does the Lord require of us to have our strength renewed like an eagle? He expects us to be in a qâvâh, intimate relationship with Him. Allowing God to be FULLY INVOLVED IN OUR LIVES, praying, worshiping, hiding His word in our hearts… Then sharing our experience with the lost.

OH LORD, TEACH US HOW TO BIND TOGETHER WITH YOU
