My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “…I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I WILL LISTEN TO YOU. You will SEEK ME AND FIND ME when you search for Me with ALL YOUR HEART. I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU,” declares the LORD…” (Jer. 29:11-14)
We must make it our REGULAR DAILY PRACTICE to call upon and pray to the Lord…He will listen to us and make Himself available to us. Why will the creator of all things, the awesome and mighty God, pay attention to us? The Lord God almighty said to us, “…Thou shalt call me, MY FATHER; and shalt not turn away from me.” (Jer. 3:19) This recognition of God’s care for us was so important that Jesus said, “LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind. This is the FIRST AND GREATEST COMMANDMENT.” (Matt. 22:37-38) So, what must we realize about our relationship with God? We must first recognize it is based on God’s grace, which is the desire and the power to do His will, “…He gives more grace…He gives grace to the humble. Therefore submit yourselves to God, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU.” (James 4:6-8)
