08-18-18 FaithLine Devotion DO NOT GO ASTRAY…

My dear brothers and sisters, of FaithLine: “A man who wanders from the way of understanding will rest in the assembly of the dead. (Pro. 21:16)

The word “wanders” is key to understanding this passage. This is the Hebrew word “taahwhich means not just to wander off – but to error and go astray. The primary meaning “to make a mistake”. This word is used most often of those who error or who are being misled in a spiritual sense. We see the consequences of our sins in Isaiah: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid ALL OUR SINS ON HIM (Jesus).(Isa. 53:6)

The end result of this unrepentant sinner is that they will, “…rest in the assembly of the dead.Eternal damnation,Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.(Rev. 20:15)

So, how do we keep this from happening? First, remember, He (Jesus) was wounded for OUR transgressions; He was bruised for OUR iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed. (Isa. 53:5) Jesus took upon Himself all of our sin and the punishment for that sin, we just need to ask Him for and receive His forgiveness.

WE WILL THEN BE HEIRS OF GOD AND JOINTHEIRS WITH JESUS CHRIST

FaithLine, the bible says: “…the LORD has laid ALL OUR SINS ON HIM (Jesus).
