My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day: “Then king Josiah called together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem…He READ IN THEIR HEARING ALL THE WORDS of the Book [their bible] of the Covenant…The king stood by his pillar and RENEWED THE COVENANT in the presence of the LORD—to follow the LORD and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey…Then he had everyone in Jerusalem and Benjamin pledge themselves to it…Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory…AS LONG AS HE LIVED, THEY DID NOT FAIL TO FOLLOW THE LORD, the God of their ancestors.” (2 Chron. 34:29-33)
The normal story line for these kings was they, “…did evil in the eyes of the LORD…” (2 Chron 33:2) We see this over 40 times in the old testament. The Word of God was hidden for many years but Hilkiah the priest found it, it was read in the presence all the people and that’s when the repentance and re-commitment took place, because of the great power released as the Word of God was spoken.
THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE AND POWERFUL…
