My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day: There are about 10 billion galaxies in the observable universe! The number of stars in a galaxy varies, but assuming an average of 100 billion stars per galaxy means that there are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (that’s 1 billion trillion) stars in the observable universe!
“God determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.” (Psa. 147:4)
The average human head (an average scalp measures approximately 120 square inches.) has about 100,000 hair follicles (Gray 2003). Each follicle can grow about 20 individual hairs in a person’s lifetime (About 2007). Average hair loss is around 100 strands a day.
