My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day: “As Solomon grew old, HIS WIVES TURNED HIS HEART AFTER OTHER GODS, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been…The LORD became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.” (1 Kings 11:4, 9)
The Lord God always expects us to be obedient and loyal to Him. No matter how much good Solomon did, in the end he yielded to the devil and turned away from God. Because of Solomon’s disobedience God punished the people of God because they turned away as well.
“I will do this because they have forsaken me and worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Molek the god of the Ammonites, and HAVE NOT WALKED IN OBEDIENCE TO ME, nor done what is right in my eyes, nor kept my decrees and laws as David, Solomon’s father, did.” (1 Kings 11:33)
We must beware because the devil is continuously trying to destroy us by tempting us to disobey God. We must love the Lord with all our heart, soul mind and strength…
