“GREAT FEAR CAME OVER THE WHOLE CHURCH, and over all who heard of these things.” (Acts 5:11)
A man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit and they we struck dead (Acts 5:1-4). This happened when God was pouring out miraculous blessings on the church, people by the thousands were being saved and added to the church. So, it’s just like the devil to interrupt these blessings with tempting this couple to lie to God. We must realize: “Jesus said, “I am the way, and THE TRUTH, and the life.” (John 14:6) and “…IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE…” (Heb. 6:18)
The bible teaches us that: “…ALL LIARS, will have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev. 21:8)
Heaven will be, among many other awesome wonders, a place of perfect truth, as a result there can be no liars there. So, if we are having a problem with telling lies we must repent and turn away from all untruth in our lives, confess to God and ask forgiveness, then walk in truth.
“The fear of the LORD is A FOUNTAIN OF LIFE, turning a person from the snares of death. The fear of the LORD leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble.” (Prov. 14:27, 19:23)
TELLING THE TRUTH BRINGS JOY TO THE LORD…
