Jesus planned for His church to be functioning on earth to carry on the work of the Lord. Right before He went to the cross He prayed and declared that He had finished His work which was the “building” of His church. The writer of Hebrews stated this: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and LET US CONSIDER HOW TO STIMULATE ONE ANOTHER to love and good deeds, NOT FORSAKING OUR OWN ASSEMBLING TOGETHER, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” (Heb. 10:23-25)
The devil has done and will continue to do anything to keep us from assembling ourselves together. Church growth has declined in the USA for some time now. But we see from the history of the church: “When the day of Pentecost had come, THEY WERE ALL TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE.” (Acts 2:1)
It is God’s will for us to be together…”But now God has placed the members, each one of them, IN THE BODY, just as He desired.” (1 Corin. 12:18)
I WAS GLAD WHEN THEY SAID TO ME, “LET US GO TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD.” (Psalms 122:1)
