05-27-18 FaithLine Devotion THE FINISHED WORK…

My dear brothers and sisters, dedicating your lives to singing for Jesus:  In the pray Jesus prayed to His Father, He said; “I have brought you glory on earth by 1FINISHING THE WORK YOU GAVE ME TO DO.” (John 17:4) 1teleioō: to carry through completely, to accomplish.

We know Jesus came to save us from our sins which would happen as a result of the crucifixion, but that has not happened yet. So, what work has He finished? John the Baptist said about Jesus: …He will clear his threshing floor, GATHERING HIS WHEAT INTO THE BARN and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (Matt. 3:12)

Jesus explained it like this: “…I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it.” (Matt. 16:18) Jesus finished this work and Paul explained what that means for us: “…Christ is the head of the church, HIS BODY, of which he is the Savior.” (Eph. 5:23) Now YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1 Corin. 12:27)

AS MEMBERS OF HIS BODY WE MUST GO OUT AND FINISH OUR WORK

FaithLine, the bible says: “…I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it.”
