“I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep, and my sheep know me. They know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I GIVE MY LIFE FOR THE SHEEP. “I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them in too. They also WILL LISTEN TO MY VOICE. THEN THERE WILL BE ONE FOLD AND ONE SHEPHERD.” (John 10:14-16)
The Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary estimated there are about 43,000 denominations in 2012. So, what is our problem? Solomon said this; “TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART And do not lean on your own understanding.” (Prov. 3:5)
Opinion: a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact. This is what Solomon was warning us about, leaning on or trusting in our own understanding which means our opinion! This means that there are 43,000 opinions but ONLY ONE FOLD!!! What is the reason for us being like this?
We have been deceived about hearing the voice of the Lord! Jesus warned us that the devil comes to “…steal and kill and destroy.” He has stolen our faith that we can actually hear the voice of the Lord, killed our ability to hear His voice and destroyed our desire TO BE ONE IN CHRIST!!! Read 1st Solomon 23 we see David’s regular routine was to ask God and God would regularly answer and give David instructions, David was trusting in the Lord with all his heart…
WE NEED TO REPENT AND LEARN TO LISTEN TO OUR SHEPHERD…
