04-27-18 FaithLine Devotion OUR LOVE FOR GOD IS PROVEN BY OUR OBEDIENCE…

My dear brothers and sisters, dedicating your lives to singing for Jesus:  “If you love Me, YOU WILL KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.” (John 14:15)

Christ is Lord over us, He is the Creator and Redeemer of us, and He is head and husband to us, and as such He has a right to issue out his commands, and expect obedience to them; because these are His Father’s commands. Jesus did give us: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so YOU MUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)

Our love for one another is shown by the way we treat one another…

“Anyone who loves me WILL OBEY MY TEACHING. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” (John 14:23)

So it is clear that the gift of intimacy and support being promised is something the world cannot see, does not know, is not given, and does not experience. What is promised here is something so personal, so intimate, so reciprocal and relational but the world cannot receive it.

“…this is love: that WE WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.” (2 John 1:6)

God is love, so we are recognized as a child of God by walking in love…

“Whoever says, “I know him,” but DOES NOT DO WHAT HE COMMANDS IS A LIAR, and the truth is not in that person.” (1 John 2:4)

REMEMBER, OUR DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD MAKES US A LIAR

FaithLine, the bible says: “Anyone who loves me WILL OBEY MY TEACHING…”
