“Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious to me, for MY SOUL TAKES REFUGE IN YOU; And IN THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS I WILL TAKE REFUGE Until destruction passes by. I will cry to God Most High, To God who accomplishes all things for me.” (Psa. 57:1-2)
Putting our trust in the shadow of His wings is to put our trust in the Divine knowledge of God. Resting in His Divine knowledge and promises, the enemy will try and attack our trust but he will only be attacking a shadow and our trust is untouched by the enemy.
“…how often I have longed to gather your children together, as A HEN GATHERS HER CHICKS UNDER HER WINGS, and you were not willing.” (Matt. 23:37)
Jesus came to seek and save the lost, to gather us together under His divine and loving care…
“Keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings. HOW PRECIOUS IS YOUR LOVING
KINDNESS, O God! And the children of men take shelter in the shadow of Your wings.” (Psa. 17:8, 36:7)
I think that we desire to have someone who is capable of loving us and taking care of us, to do just that for all eternity…
“John heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place IS NOW AMONG THE PEOPLE, and He will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself WILL BE WITH THEM and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain.” (Rev. 21:3-4)
