Carl Boberg was returning home from an afternoon service. A thundercloud appeared on the horizon, and soon lightning and intense winds swept over the meadows, the thunder pealed in loud claps. Rain came in cool fresh showers. In a little while the storm was over, and a rainbow appeared. It was this great storm and then wonderful peace that inspired the writing of this song.
“LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants YOU HAVE ESTABLISHED A STRONGHOLD AGAINST YOUR ENEMIES, to silence the foe and the avenger.” (Psa. 8:1-2)
