“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they MAY HAVE 1LIFE, and have it TO THE FULL.” (John 10:10) 1zōē: God’s life. Zoe is life as God has in Himself! The God kind of life!
The devil is very busy trying, by any means, to steal our confidence and trust in the Lord, to steal our peace and the joy of the Lord. As he succeeds in doing this, he will kill our faith in God’s ability to do miraculous wonders trying to destroy or relationship with God. So, what do we do?
“Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But 2RESIST HIM, FIRM IN YOUR FAITH…” (1 Pet. 5:8-9) 2anthistēmi: oppose, rebel, withstand.
We must oppose the devil when he comes against us, being firm in our faith in the inspired, anointed and living word of God, which instructs us to:
“Submit therefore to God. RESIST THE DEVIL and HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…” (Jam. 4:7-8)
God has provided us with divine protection, we must learn how to arm ourselves…
“…be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the FULL ARMOR OF GOD, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Eph. 6:10-11)
Let’s look at God’s armor so we may learn how to use it.
“put on…the belt of truth…the breastplate of righteousness…the SHIELD OF FAITH…the helmet of salvation…the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God. And PRAY IN THE SPIRIT on all occasions…” (Eph. 6:14-18)
Believe God, believe His word is true, memorize it and practice it DAILY.
THE WORD OF GOD IS POWERFUL…
