Jesus said to her, [Dear] woman, WHAT IS THAT TO YOU AND TO ME? [What do we have in common? Leave it to Me.] My time has not yet come.” (John 2:1-4) AMP
[I used the Amplified translation here because it shows more clearly that Jesus was not choosing to disrespect his mother, because, as man, Jesus was David’s Son and hers; yet, AS GOD THE SON, Jesus was David’s God and hers, and this was a gentle reminder, that Mary must begin to look upon Jesus as her Lord!]
“His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:5)
[She directed the servants to be ready to immediately do whatever He needed.]
“Nearby stood six stone water jars…each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so, THEY FILLED THEM TO THE BRIM.” (John 2:6-7)
“Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet…the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine…”Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; BUT YOU HAVE SAVED THE BEST TILL NOW.” (John 2:8-10)
[When Jesus performs a miracle, IT WILL ALWAYS BE THE VERY BEST. We were created by Him as were these grapes. He knows all about what would taste wonderful and created this wine just that way! Just do whatever asks you to do and all will be well!]
