“PEOPLE GNAWED THEIR TONGUES IN AGONY and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but THEY REFUSED TO REPENT of what they had done.” (Rev. 16:10-11)
If we think things are bad here look what awaits us if we fail to repent. God will go through any means to motivate people to get their hearts right. In fact, the Lord tells us:
“Show mercy to those who doubt. PULL OTHERS OUT OF THE FIRE. Save them. To others, show mercy mixed with fear. Hate even the clothes that are stained by the sins of those who wear them.” (Jude 1:22-23)
This is the message we must carry to unsaved ones…
“1Repent, and turn to God, so that YOUR SINS MAY BE WIPED OUT, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you–even Jesus.” (Acts 3:19-20) 1metanoeō: a change in the tendency and action of the whole inner nature.
When I repented my whole nature changed, my meanness, my desire for self-pleasure, my selfishness, my “all about me” nature was all wiped out along, of course with my sin, I truly experience this:
“…if anyone is in Christ, THE NEW CREATION HAS COME: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corin. 5:17)
At 29 years of age I experienced such an awesome newness of every aspect of my life, then as I began to read and study the word of God I discovered:
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you, I am going there TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:2-3)
