THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!

“Every word of God proves true…” (Pro. 30:5)

What is truth?

I have come into the world—to BEAR WITNESS TO THE TRUTH. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him, “WHAT IS TRUTH?” (John 18:37-38)

First let us look at somethings truth IS NOT.

• Truth is not what makes people feel good. Unfortunately, bad news can be true.
• Truth is not what the majority says is true. Fifty-one percent of a group can reach a wrong conclusion.
• Truth is not what is comprehensive. A lengthy, detailed presentation can still result in a false conclusion.
• Truth is not defined by what is intended. Good intentions can still be wrong.
• Truth is not how we know; truth is what we know.
• Truth is not simply what is believed. A lie believed is still a lie.
• Truth is not what is publicly proved. A truth can be privately known
.

So, again I ask, “What is truth?”

Jesus said…I am the way, and THE TRUTH, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6)

We are told in the introduction of Jesus Christ: “…grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17)

Why is it so important for us to know the truth?

“Satan…will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned WHO HAVE NOT BELIEVED THE TRUTH but have delighted in wickedness.” (2 Thess. 2:9-12)

So, what must we do?

Jesus replied, “What I’m about to tell you IS TRUE. No one can see God’s kingdom without being born again.” (John 3:3)

WE MUST CONFESS, REPENT, RECEIVE AND BELIEVE!
