“The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” (Psalms 19:7)
The two main revelations of God: The revelation of nature and the revelation of God’s Word. As wonderful as nature is in revealing God to us IT IS GOD’S WORD THAT REVEALS HIM MOST CLEARLY TO US! It is therefore to God’s Word that we should give our absolute attention. The wonderful thing about God’s Word is that it is perfect in every way. Scripture tells us that:
“The words of the LORD are perfect. They are like silver made pure in a clay furnace. They are like silver made pure seven times over.” (Psalms 12:6).
We are told that:
“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word, that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4).
We, as flesh and blood, become soul and spirit when we know the Lord. So, that we may be spiritually alive WE NEED TO FEED OUR SOULS ON GOD’S PERFECT WORD.
GOD’S WORD HAS THE POWER TO CONVERT AND RESTORE OUR SOUL. Because of our sin, we have all gone astray from our maker. However, God’s Word has the power to bring us back to Him. The law of God is perfect and when we compare ourselves to it we find that we are not perfect. In fact, we find we are very far short of perfect! The more we look at God’s perfect standards the more sinful we will appear. God’s law is:
“…our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:24),
As we hear the convicting power of God’s law we will flee to Christ for mercy and forgiveness. Let’s give our attention to God’s Word that we may find the Saviour in it.

He washed it white as snow.
Heavenly Father, HELP US TO FIND THE PERFECT SAVIOUR IN GOD’S PERFECT WORD. In Jesus’ name, amen.
