04-16-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day “Jesus said, ‘I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and BELIEVES IN ME will never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25-26)

Jesus was claiming to have power over death. He was claiming that He was the source of eternal life. He was claiming that even if a person dies physically and they believe in Him, they will NEVER DIE SPIRITUALLY. DO WE BELIEVE THIS? How we answer Jesus’ question concerning His claims about Himself and power over death is the most major decision we’ll ever make. Let’s put it this way: if He didn’t rise from the dead, the decision is easy. Don’t believe Him. But if He did, we have a major decision to make – A DECISION OF LIFE AND DEATH. This is what the Lord presented to His people many years ago:

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death…SO, CHOOSE LIFE in order that you may live…” (Deut. 30:19)

It was then, that the Lord spoke this to His people,

“I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the LORD your God may bless you…” (Deut. 30:16)

God had continuous trouble with His people because of their unwillingness to obey,

“…they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God And did not keep His testimonies…” (Psa. 78:56)

So, what was their problem?

…they did not believe in God And did not trust in His salvation.” (Psa. 78:22)

Because of all this unbelief, what do you think God chose to do? Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh.

“For God SO LOVED THE WORLD, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him SHALL NOT PERISH, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

The opening phrase is traditionally translated as “God so loved the world that…” the actual phrase means “GOD LOVED THE WORLD IN THIS WAY,” with emphasis on WHAT GOD DID, more than why!

JESUS IS THE EXPRESSION OF GOD’S INDESCRIBABLE LOVE FOR ALL OF MANKIND!

Let us worship with a renewed appreciation for God’s love!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: For God SO LOVED THE WORLD, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him SHALL NOT PERISH, but have eternal life!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh
