4-12-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every dayThese two verses give the finest display of acceptance of and confident in God’s help, that we see anywhere. Habakkuk saw that evil was at hand, and unavoidable, he submitted to the inspiration of God, who’s Spirit enabled him to present it in all its horrible circumstances. He knew that our Abba Father is merciful and gracious. He trusted to His promise, though all appearances were against its success; for he knew that the word of God would NEVER FAIL, and therefore HIS CONFIDENCE IS UNSHAKEN!]

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD, I WILL BE JOYFUL IN GOD MY SAVIOR.” (Hab. 3:17-18)

[What powerful desire does this express for the ordinances of God! We should prefer the worship of God to courteous, happy, honorable, and noble company, to joyful feasts, or public amusements! Oh, that we would rather be in our closet, wrestling in prayer, or reading the Scriptures on our knees, than be at any of the above places? How often have many of us sacrificed our amusement, and fleshly delight, and pleasures, for the benefit of a fervent prayer?]

“Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me and teach me your law. I HAVE CHOSEN THE WAY OF FAITHFULNESS; I HAVE SET MY HEART on your laws. I hold fast to your statutes, LORD; DO NOT LET ME BE PUT TO SHAME.” (Psa. 119:29-31)

[Let all of our sins and foolishness be blotted out by your mercy Abba Father; and so, hide and cover them that they will never appear, in this or the world to come, to my shame and confusion! How WE NEED TO BE PERSISTENT WITH GOD in this prayer!]

“…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. SINCE WE LIVE BY THE SPIRIT, LET US KEEP IN STEP WITH THE SPIRIT. LET US NOT become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” (Gal. 5:22-26)

[Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, let us do what the Holy Spirit inspires us to do, let us go where He leads us! FULL OF JOY!]

NO MATTER WHAT MAY HAPPEN AROUND US WE CAN REJOICE IN THE LORD!

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:

SINCE WE LIVE BY THE SPIRIT, LET US KEEP IN STEP WITH THE SPIRIT!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: SINCE WE LIVE BY THE SPIRIT, LET US KEEP IN STEP WITH THE SPIRIT. LET US NOT become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh
