WHEN ARE WE TOO OLD?

“Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, TILL I DECLARE YOUR POWER TO THE NEXT GENERATION, your mighty acts to all who are to come.” (Psalms 71:18)

Just before my 74th birthday the Lord spoke to me about writing a second daily devotion. I reminded the Lord about the struggle I am having writing the current daily devotion (it’s been about 4 years now), the Lord, very kindly, yet firmly, let me know that He would have no trouble helping me, IF I WOULD TRUST HIM! So, I woke up the next morning and very humbly began seeking God’s face for what He would have me say, and the Lord just POURED INTO ME just what to say. I thanked the Lord and asked Him why He had not done this before, He said to me “YOU DID NOT ASK!”

IF you remain in me and my words remain in you, ASK WHATEVER YOU WISH, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7)

Just imagine how much more effective my ministry would have been if I would have asked, then listened! Yes, this seems so simple, the devil just loves to tempt us to believe that God will use someone else, just not me! Just remember:

“…be strong in the Lord and IN HIS MIGHTY POWER. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Eph. 6:10-11)

Please remember this with me:

“… I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his deceptive trickery, so your minds should be corrupted from THE SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST.” (2 Corin. 11:3)

Come on, let’s ask, BELIEVE and receive…Bill Stockham
