“The Lord be praised, for he has pleasure in the peace of his servants. And my tongue will be talking of your righteousness and of your praise all the day.” (Psa. 35:27-28)
I’ve been studying the “why” question for about 45 years, and my profound answer is: I DON’T KNOW! And I’m never going to know, because I’m not God. There are some things we’re just never going to understand until we get to be with Jesus. Then it’s all going to become very, very clear. Only God knows. And if we don’t get an answer from Him, we might as well stop asking “Why?” because we will simply prolong the pain. “It is the glory of God to conceal things…” (Proverbs 25:2)
God does not owe us an explanation for anything. God does not have to check in with us first before he does something. God does not have to get our permission before he allows things to happen in our lives. As we see in the opening scripture: “The Lord…has pleasure in the PEACE of his servants.” We will be faced with very challenging trials, that’s just how it is! But remember, our awesome Abba Father blesses us with this: “…God’s peace will watch over your hearts and your minds because you BELONG to Christ Jesus. God’s peace can NEVER BE COMPLETELY UNDERSTOOD.” (Phil. 4:7 NIvR)
We all have been blessed to have witnessed and experienced many of God’s miraculous healings, blessings and great comforts in our lives, despite what we have gone through: “He will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev. 21:4)
