“This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that YOUR WORD HAS REVIVED ME AND GIVEN ME LIFE.” (Psa. 119:50 AMP)
Why is the Word of God so important to us? First, know this: “EVERY WORD OF GOD proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” (Pro. 30:5)
So, the Word gives us life, it is truth and it is a shield [of protection] for us. How can the Word do all that? Well, we must know this:
“In the beginning was the Word, and THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.” (John 1:1-4)
We know from the scripture that God has a Triune nature, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit! In the KJV it says:
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and THESE THREE ARE ONE.” (1 John 5:7)
This truth is left out of most translations, why? Well, the “Textus Receptus” or “received text”, is what the King James teams used to translate the Greek into Shakespearean English. Later the Alexandrian (Nestle, et al.) Greek translation came about using Received Greek Text modified by scholars in Alexandra [one of their issues was, they did not believe in the Triune nature of God]. John goes on to explain:
“…the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
We must remember: “God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion…” (Gen. 1:26)
We were created to be “…ambassadors [representatives] for Christ…” (2 Corin. 5:20)
OK, we are made in God’s image, we are like Him, we are representatives of Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit! So, when The Word of God goes out of our mouth –
SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN!
