DEADLY POISON!

We are held accountable to God for what we say! Each one of has experience “hurt” from things spoken to us out of meanness or anger and know the pain it causes us. The devil has destroyed many relationships because of WORDS SPOKEN IN HAST! On the other hand, kind words spoken to people have motivated them to go forward and accomplish great things for the Lord! Let’s be so very careful what we say, we can greatly bless with our words, this is my daily prayer:

“May the WORDS FROM MY MOUTH and the thoughts from my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalms 19:14)

“…no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of DEADLY POISON. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN! Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh. Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom…the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.” (James 3:8-17)

A test of our loyalty to God is shown here: “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, CANNOT LOVE GOD, whom they have not seen.” (1 John 4:20)

The tongue can do so much damage. It can ruin friendships, cause misunderstandings and put a wall between brothers and sisters. We have all been guilty of saying hurtful things. We must be cautions, THE DEVIL WILL TEMPT US TO HURT ONE ANOTHER with our words because that is just what he does and unfortunately he is very good at it! So, let’s be careful that what we say does not damage someone and cause divisions in the Body of Christ!

Much of what we may want to say could probably BE LEFT UNSAID.

Please, be a blessing to someone today…Bill Stockham
