We must know that prayer is not the groundwork for the battle – PRAYER IS THE BATTLE. And of all the things we can do to heighten the power and focus of prayer, fasting is doubtless the most powerful. Fasting puts us in harmony with our Abba Father who stresses humility from those who wish to be close to Him. Fasting helps to humble the flesh. When it is done for that purpose, it pleases the Spirit of God.]
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may LIFT YOU UP IN DUE TIME. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Pet. 5:5-7)
[Daniel was one of many who exercised prayer and fasting:] “And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.” (Dan. 9:3)
