COVER ME LORD!

“I say to the LORD, You, are my God; give ear to the voice of my pleas for mercy, O LORD! O LORD, my Lord, the strength of my salvation, YOU HAVE COVERED MY HEAD IN THE DAY OF BATTLE.” (Psalms 140:6-7)

In Psalm 140, David returns to a familiar theme. David was a man of war, and was continually bombarded by enemies, sometimes from his own household. As in the past, he continually flees to the Lord for help; HE UNDERSTANDS THAT THE BATTLE IS THE LORDS!
How important it is for us to understand that, today as well as in David’s time, the battle is still the Lord’s battle. Why does it say,
“You, have covered my head in the day of battle”? David is explaining that his very life is kept safe by the Lord even during a great battle. We do not have to take the full weight of life upon our shoulders; GOD IS ALWAYS THERE TO COVER OUR HEAD EVEN AS HE COVERED DAVID’S HEAD!
“I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy. SURELY THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL GIVE THANKS TO YOUR NAME; THE UPRIGHT SHALL DWELL IN YOUR PRESENCE.” (Psalms 140:12-13).

This summarize Psalm 140. The Lord maintains our cause; He’s never too busy to help us. In a day when true justice is almost unheard of, WE HAVE COMPLETE CONFIDENCE THAT THE LORD WILL EXECUTE JUSTICE ON OUR BEHALF. Trust in Him; take hold of Him. God will never let you down; HE IS ALWAYS THERE.
The righteous, the true Saints of God, give thanks to the name of the Lord and live in His presence every day! Remember, even though we
may sin, because we ask forgiveness, we claim the perfect righteousness of the blood of Christ, we are righteous! Cry out to Christ alone for salvation; He, then, will cover your head from your enemies around you. More importantly

He will cover our head from the Holy, Righteous wrath of God!
