[As I was preparing for this devotion this song came on and my spirit was touched within me to think about “one day” in heaven…]

  • “BETTER IS ONE DAY”
  • How lovely is Your dwelling place
Oh Lord Almighty, My soul doth long
    And even faint For You
    Here my heart Is satisfied
    Within Your presence
I see beneath The shadow of Your wings
  • Better is one day in Your courts
  • Better is one day in Your house
  • Better is one day in Your courts
  • Than thousands elsewhere

Then I SAW “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.” (Rev. 21:1) [Oh what a sight that will be (Of course John saw this many years ago!); as we all have seen the awesome beauty of God’s existing creation all around this earth. This ‘New Heaven and New Earth’ will surely surpass all we have observed!]  I SAW the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “LOOK! GOD’S DWELLING PLACE IS NOW AMONG THE PEOPLE, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be NO MORE DEATH’ OR MOURNING OR CRYING OR PAIN, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Rev. 21:2-4) [“How lovey is your dwelling place – Better is one day in your house”] “He who was seated on the throne said, “I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW!” Then he said, “Write this down, for THESE WORDS ARE TRUSTWORTHY AND TRUE.” He said to me: IT IS DONE. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. THOSE WHO ARE VICTORIOUS WILL INHERIT ALL THIS, and I will be their God and they will be my children.” (Rev. 21:5-7) [“Here my heart Is satisfied Within Your presence- Better is one day in your house” I for one, am in awe as I think about words Jesus said to John: “IT IS DONE” The Lord is not waiting for us to do this He has it all ready for us now, He is just waiting for us to get there – WE TRULY SERVE A WONDERFULLY AWESOME GOD!]

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:

THESE WORDS ARE TRUSTWORTHY AND TRUE!
