“May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” (Psa. 141:2) [What about the scriptural tie between incense and prayer? Our prayers rise “as incense” before our Abba Father, as something desirable. Prayer is more than just a welcome fragrance for God; it is His favorite thing for us to do; because it demonstrates our love for Him, and our trust in Him! In order for incense to function properly, IT TAKES FIRE. Incense burns. In other words, God gives us the earnestness to pray; He starts that fire within us, and we respond by praying HIS DESIRES BACK TO HIM!] “The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the PRAYER OF THE UPRIGHT PLEASES HIM.” (Pro. 15:8) [Oh, how we must desire to please God!] “If you believe, YOU WILL RECEIVE whatever you ask for in prayer.” (Matt. 21:22) [It is certainly worth our effort to pray; but not just to pray, too FAST AND PRAY dedicating that meal (or meals) to our Abba Father!] “Paul and Barnabas APPOINTED ELDERS for them in each church and, WITH PRAYER AND FASTING, COMMITTED THEM TO THE LORD, in whom they had put their trust.” (Acts 14:23)
