[As I was praying on my face before the Lord a few days ago, I stopped to listen (as I have finally learned to do). The Lord said:] “I AM the sharp two-edged sword that goes out of your mouth. I AM THE ‘WORD OF GOD’ when you speak my word in faith; it will set on fire the course of nature because MY WORD WILL NEVER RETURN EMPTY.” [I just paused, in wonder, and realized that I CAN NO LONGER BE TIMID in my speaking against the enemy AND SPEAKING BLESSINGS ON MY PRAYER FAMILY. I thanked the Lord over and over and I’m still in wonder at what the Lord said.] “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY, AND IN YOUR SPIRIT, WHICH ARE GOD’S.” (1 Corin. 6:19-20)
[My mouth belongs to God!]
“…the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, AND SETTETH ON FIRE THE COURSE OF NATURE…” (James 3:6)
[Well, my tongue belongs to God as well! Can God not use my tongue to set on fire the course of nature? As the NIV says IT SETS THE WHOLE COURSE OF MY LIFE ON FIRE. Now, I am persuaded that when we do not speak God’s word with boldness (when He inspires us to bless), that WE HINDER THAT BLESSING FROM GOING FORTH. So in that respect our tongue “defiles our whole body” with unbelief! Not because we spoke evil but because WE SPOKE IN UNBELIEF. This is the reason (I believe) that we need to pray the beatitudes such as;] “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” (Matt. 5:4)
[We need to mourn for our unbelief! I have been mourning for some time now for my unbelief and THE LORD COMFORTED ME with the word I shared above.]
“And he hath made MY MOUTH LIKE A SHARP SWORD; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me…” (Isa. 49:2)
[Like Father, like son!]
“And out of HIS MOUTH GOETH A SHARP SWORD, that with it he should smite the nations…” (Revelation 19:15)
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that OUR MOUTH BELONGS TO GOD TODAY!
