My dear brothers and sisters, dedicating your lives to singing for Jesus: WOW! The GREATEST and most BEAUTIFUL declaration of all declarations!
“For to us A CHILD IS BORN, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, PRINCE OF PEACE.” (Isaiah 9:6)
That is, the ensign of government; the scepter, the sword, the key, or the like, which was hung from the shoulder.
“Of the greatness of his government and peace THERE WILL BE NO END. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.” (Isaiah 9:7)
This is a prophecy of the incarnation of Christ, showing how he is related to mankind as their Savior; also, how HIS INFINITE MAJESTY AND GODHEAD ARE SHOWN.
“When Herod the king had heard these things…he demanded of them WHERE CHRIST SHOULD BE BORN. Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.” (Matt. 2:3-4, 8)
What delicate hypocrisy was here! he only wished to find out the child that he might murder him; but see how that God who searches the heart prevents the plans of the wicked from being accomplished!
“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.” (Matt. 3:16-17)
