“…to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, “I know your deeds [what we are DOING about what we believe], that you are neither cold nor hot…So then, because you are lukewarm…I will VOMIT YOU out of My mouth.” (Rev. 3:14-16) The church of Laodicea is the last of seven churches addressed in Revelation. This harsh pronouncement suggests that the Christians at Laodicea (located in modern Turkey) wavered in their commitment to the Christian faith. So, the Lord could say to them, “CONSIDER YOUR WAYS!” “I know your deeds [what we are DOING about what we believe]…” The focus here is on what we are doing, because our outward actions reflect the condition of our inner hearts. As James says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” (James 2:26)
DON’T JUST LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD. YOU MUST DO WHAT IT SAYS…(James 1:22)
